What Is NigeriaGeo Pro?

A free, browser-based coordinate transformation engine built specifically for Nigerian geodetic reference systems.

Nigeria operates with two parallel address systems for the same physical locations. The Minna datum — used in every official survey plan, Land Registry document, and Certificate of Occupancy since the colonial era — and WGS84 — the system used by every GPS device, Google Maps, and modern instrument.

These two systems describe the same spot on the ground using numbers that differ by approximately 100 to 200 metres. This is not an error — it is a coordinate language difference. NigeriaGeo Pro bridges this gap using the official EPSG:1061 Molodensky transformation parameters.

"NigeriaGeo Pro is a coordinate translator — converting between 8 Nigerian CRS with ~3 m RMSE accuracy, using parameters sourced directly from the EPSG Geodetic Parameter Registry."

Nigeria Belt Projections
EPSG:26391 / 26392 / 26393

Three Transverse Mercator zones covering western, central, and northeastern Nigeria. All use the Minna datum, Clarke 1880 ellipsoid, and scale factor k₀ = 0.99975.

📡
WGS84 Geographic
EPSG:4326

The global GPS standard. Used by all smartphones, GNSS receivers, satellite imagery, and online maps. Coordinates in decimal degrees latitude and longitude.

📐
UTM Zones 31N & 32N
EPSG:32631 / 32632

Global projected coordinate system on WGS84 datum. No datum shift required when converting from WGS84. Used in international GIS projects.

🌐
Web Mercator
EPSG:3857

Used by Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, and Bing Maps for tile display. Suitable for visualisation only — introduces up to 0.7% distance error.

Five Steps to Transform Your Coordinates

The complete transformation process from input to validated result — explained clearly for professionals and students alike.

1
🎯
Select Input Coordinate System

Choose your source CRS from the dropdown — West Belt, Mid Belt, East Belt, WGS84, UTM, or Web Mercator. The input field labels update automatically.

2
⌨️
Enter Coordinates or Upload CSV

Type a single point (Easting/Northing or Longitude/Latitude) or upload a batch CSV file containing multiple coordinates for bulk processing.

3
🔄
Choose Target Coordinate System

Select the CRS you want to convert to. The pipeline display updates instantly, showing which mathematical operations will be applied before you run anything.

4
Run the Transformation

Click Transform. All Molodensky and Transverse Mercator calculations execute locally in your browser in under one second — no server, no internet needed.

5
🗺️
View Results and Validate on Map

Transformed coordinates appear instantly. A gold marker is placed on the interactive OpenStreetMap so you can visually confirm the result is in the right location.

ΔX = −92 m

ΔY = −93 m
Minna → WGS84 Y offset
ΔZ = +122 m
